Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5. 1 to Husband 1.0 and I noticed a distinct slowdown in the overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewellery applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5. 1. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as: Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NEWS 5.0, MONEY 3.0 and CRICKET 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.
What can I do?

DEAR Madam,

First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5. 1 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.
Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Silence 2.5 or Beer 6.1. Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance.
We recommend: Cooking 3. 11 and Good Looks 7.7. 1

Attacking and boarding a smuggler’s vessel usually yields a specialist (for example,
Carpenter, Sailmaker, etc.).

Double Shot:

When choosing the ammo type, select the chain balls. Then, immiediately after firing,
click the round balls and you will fire both of these ammo types in the same shot.

Easy dance sequences:

Press [Pause/Break] when your dance partner gives you a hand signal for you to move.
Then, quickly resume the game and press the correct direction key.

Alternate dialogue:

Set the system date to September 19th to have everyone’s dialogue sound like a pirate.

Easy sea battles:

When battling other ships, get in front of them. Have them chase you, and when your guns are
fully loaded, turn, fire, and straighten again. Repeat this until you wish to board or their
sail falls and they surrender. It is best done when you use grape shot or chain shot.

Easy land battles:

Land battles are difficult to win, even if you have more soldiers than the enemy. The key
strategy to remember is to hide in the trees. The soldiers attacking your troops in the trees
will have less than a 20% chance of inflicting critical damage, and all damage is divided in
half. Also watch your morale. If your troop’s morale gets low enough, they may run away from
battle. Always enter battle with about one quarter moor troops than the city guards. You can
also weaken enemy ports and cities by alerting Pirate Havens and Indian Villages. The Indians
or pirates will assault the town, making the town lose guards, whether or not they win the
battle. This also makes the city lose wealth, however . If the city was once “Prosperous” it
may go down to “Poor” or “Modest”. If this happens too much, alert the missionaries in the
Missionary Camps. Tell them to travel to the city you want to become wealthier, then attack
the city. You must attack cities at the correct moment. Waiting too long after sending in
missionaries may result in more guards accumulating than before. You should wait only two to
five days.
Get your buccaneers to the front lines whether in the trees or not. It does not matter if you
have a significantly greater force. Then, have your pirates and officers get into position for
flanking. The best way to do this is to send more than one group of pirates against one enemy
in case the enemy moves. Before you attack the soldiers with your pirates, attack them with your
buccaneers by holding [Shift] then selecting the “Next Turn” button on the control panel. This
should either kill or significantly weaken the soldiers. Also, make sure you search for a hill
to flank the enemy from. If you use this strategy, you can easily defeat an enemy that is only
five or more soldiers weaker than yourself.

Easy money:

Reach the rank of Count with any or all nations. Then, go into ship battles with any desired
ship. Damage it a lot, but not to the point where it explodes. Keep the ship and go to a port
where you are at the rank of Count or higher. Talk to the shipwright. You will get free repairs.
You can repair a damaged ship for free and sell it for a lot more.

During Gameplay Press Control+Shift+Alt, then type the cheats

More money:

While playing (creating) a level press and hold the shift button
and press the ( + = ) button. If you press and hold them at the
same time you will receive more money.

GameTip [Demo]:

To create a golfer with all stats on 100%, do the following:

1. create a new game, doesn’t matter what theme you choose
2. create a new hole, doens’t matter what size, just create
one.
3. Open that hole (press ‘h’), and choose to play a practise
round.
4. now you can distribute points to your golfers skills,
just add them the way you like it.
5. now, save your golfer (go to golferdetails, and press the
disk button) and exit the game.
6. start a new game, go to your golfers details and load your
saved golfer (press the folder icon and select the name of
the golfer)
7. again, create and open a hole, play a practice round
8. you can now add 10 or more extra points to your golfer
9. again, save (overwrite) and exit.
10. repeat steps 6 through 9 until your golfer has every
single stat on 100%

it’s now a piece of cake to win a golftournament!!!

Hint:

I found a way in the simgolf demo to increse money press on the
keyboard + left from backslash button, when press money slowli goes up.

Quick Hole Selection:

An undocumented shortcut key, press 1-9 and SHIFT 1-9 to jump to each
hole on your course.

Hex Cheat:

Using Hex Workshop 3.1, target file: save.idx.
When you open the saved game the program will show you to the left the
character stats. The address to start is 00001fee.
To add 99 to constitution for example, the hex numbers are 3939.

The Undead Character: Mage:

At the first create character screen you must be cautious. You are provided
with three characters (WARRIOR, SCOUT&MAGE). Don’t try to select a scout or
a warrior if you want to win the game. Select a mage and continue your quest.
You will be given a quest to find the healing herb in the village courtyard.
After completing the quest return to the village you will find many Sha-ahoul
scouts and warriors. Defeat them by the electric charge spell, then go to dead
corpse and retrieve all their items and wear it. Try to search for a tower
shield (vital). After you are fully equipped you don’t have the ability to
die (it really happens…trust me). This does not work out with either a
scout or a warrior. If more doubts persists, Mail me.

Easy money -1:

At the beginning of the game, instead of taking the commission letter to the
armory or weaponry to get the weapon, sell it. You will get a lot of crowns
for it.

Easy money -2:

Note: This procedure involves editing game files; create a backup copy of the
files before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the “merchant.pox ” files in
the game folder. There are six of them, plus the ones with the merchant’s names.
Set the “buydiscount” amount to about “2000.00″ and set the “sellmarkup” amount
to “0.00″.

Impervious to damage:

Press D during game play to make your character impervious to damage.

The Three Stooges reference:

You can find The Three Stooges in the game. Moe and Curley are located in the
outer keep level one, in the infirmary. Larry is located in the inner keep level
two, behind the locked door. Talk to Sir Roth about getting the key after you
find the door.

Hint

I was looking for some special cheats for all those old Sierra
adventures like Larry, Police quest and Kings quest etc.
Up to my surprise the only cheats i found were things like
“Press ALT-X” in larry one etc.

ALT-V shows version number of the game.

Many of these sierra game have some kind of “Debug” mode, when you do
some combined key action Press ALT-D(ebug, how obvious) , you will see
the version dialogs like when you hit ALT-V but without knowing, Debug
mode is enabled now!. Then you enter the following command “GET OBJECT”
[Enter] After that you will see a line asking for an object number. In
this way you will be able to get objects in your inventory without
finding them throughout the game.

This last possibility made it possible for me to finish Leisure Suit
Larry 1 with only a few points since the only thing i needed to do was
bringing the apple to the woman. Ofcourse i had to get rid of the woman
staying in front of the button that opens the door and all that.

It seems like not much people know this secret. It also worked for the
earlier police quest games and king´s quest games.
but ONLY the early versions (1 and it´s sequel or something)

There is another problem, you have a certain range of objects, if you
enter an unknown object number, the game will show an error dialog with
a number and then it will quit.
The best way to test it out is to test all numbers from 0 to 100 (if it
gets that far) and note down what object is what number.
The error dialog also shows something like GET(#) and PUT(#), to me that
indicates that you will probably be able to dump objects out of your
inventory but i never tested that.

In Larry I it will work for sure because i took time to retest that, i
believe it also worked for King´s quest ranges 1 to 3 and Space quest 1
to 3 but you will have to test that yourself.

I believe that the debug mode was implemented just to test various
stages of the game without needing to go through the earlier stages
first.

This ALT key is used for a lot of ALTernative playing methods.

Hints:

If you have ever played fallen sword this is just like it but different,
you will find yourself in a training simulation. talk to the holograms
to find out your quest info, you need to finish the quest to go on to
the next level. And then it is just like that on out!
